St Joseph's Catholic School The Strand

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to St Joseph's School community in the Mary Help of Christians Parish.

Dear Parents and Carers

It is my pleasure as Principal, to welcome you to St Joseph’s Catholic School, The Strand.  St Joseph’s values a strong, supportive and involved Catholic school community.  We seek to create an environment where all children, staff, parents and guardians feel valued, included and engaged. Through our Peace Builders Program, we work to provide a school environment where all students feel safe and all members care and support each other.

We acknowledge our parents and carers as the first educators of their children and seek to work alongside you, to develop and educate the whole child socially, emotionally, academically, spiritually and physically.  St Joseph’s has a strong tradition of academic, sporting and cultural success across all year levels. We feel it is essential that every child is given the opportunity to experience success and develop their potential.

St Joseph's is a Catholic school committed to an education that is centered on Christ and the Gospel values.  These are implicit in every aspect of school life and define our interactions with one another.  Our school motto: Love God. Love one another, reflects the important example of Christ as we endeavour to reach out to those in need in our community, ever mindful to be continually thankful for all that we have been given. We strive to meet all with peace and love.

It is a privilege to share with you this important time in your life and that of your child, as they begin their primary education. I sincerely hope that you and your family will always feel welcome at St Joseph’s.  I look forward to working with you as we strive to provide the students with the best possible educational experiences and outcomes.
