St Joseph's school uniform should be worn with pride on all occasions. It is the collective responsibility of all to ensure the Code of dress requirements apply to every student.

Winter Uniform

A St Joseph’s Royal Blue Jacket is available for purchase. During cold weather children are permitted to wear royal or navy blue tracksuit pants.

Prep

Jewellery & Makeup

  • If ears are pierced one small, plain stud or sleeper per ear, may be worn.
  • Rings may not be worn.
  • No lipstick, nail polish or make-up etc. to be worn.
  • One simple chain with a small cross or religious symbol may be worn.  Neck thongs, Indian beads, sharks' teeth etc are not permitted.
  • Anklets or bracelets are not allowed.
  • A plain wrist watch is the only wrist jewellery permitted.

Hair

  • Hair should be of a natural colour and neat and tidy in appearance.
  • No extreme hairstyles/hair colours are acceptable. This will be at the discretion of the Principal or Assistant Principal.
  • Hair accessories are to be in school colours only.
  • All long hair should be tied back off the face with a ribbons or scrunchie in school colours.

Senior Shirt

A Year 6 Student Leadership Checked Shirt is available for sale through the Uniform Shop. Year 6 students have the option of wearing their current checked shirt or purchasing and wearing the Year 6 Senior Academic Shirt.

Special Occasions and Events

For special occasions and events, parents will be informed which uniform to wear by classroom teachers and office staff. 


Application of Uniform Policy

  • Policy can be found here
  • Reminders of the policy throughout the year (newsletter, P & F Meeting).
  • Policy explained and given to new parents.
  • Positive reinforcement measures are included in the new policy for individual, class and school rewards.
  • Steps in place for children wearing incorrect uniform
  1. Parents are to notify school if their child is out of uniform
  2. Classroom teachers will give verbal reminders to children and specifically to children out of uniform without explanation from their parents.
  3. Children who are consistently out of uniform will have a reminder slip sent home to be signed by the child’s parents (Principal or APRE informed of this step).
  4. Parents of children who still continue to be out of uniform will be contacted by the Principal or APRE
